Dr. Lee's primary role is to provide analytical services to research communities in CU, as well as throughout the States, using mass spectrometry. Dr. Lee's expertise is in protein chemistry relating, but not limited to quantitative proteomics, protein-protein and protein-ligand interactions, and intact protein mass and sequence determination. Dr. Lee's research interest is on understanding how microRNAs can modulate cellular responses to different types of stress. He uses mass spectrometry coupled with ultra performance liquid chromatography (UPLC), in order to monitor abundance changes in thousands of proteins in cells. By decoding patterns of protein changes in different conditions, he tries to elucidate cellular events when cells are perturbed by stresses, such as activation of cell death receptor.
