Dr. Touri's research is on the behavior of complex adaptive network systems. These systems include various engineering systems such as traffic networks, robotics, and autonomous vehicles. In addition, his research has applications in the study of social networks and opinion dynamics. His works has been focusing on characterizing the fundamental limits of distributed optimization, computation, and also the limiting behavior of multiagent systems when utilizing distributed computation mechanisms. In addition, he has worked on control of safety critical control systems, and controllability of random dynamics. He has recently proved a conjecture on controllability of random networks that bridges between modern results in random matrix theory and controllability of discrete structures.
