research overview

  • Court's creative development process for performance mixes new media, and live performance across disciplines to expand the narrative and dramaturgical intent, originating from an expressionistic base but finding a new voice within the collaborative process. This structure also underpins his research into lighting and production support practices for Dance and Theatre and includes investigation of international and cultural differences in aesthetics underpinning lighting design for live performance. Court's secondary area of research is the development of performing arts education with curriculum grounded in experiential and constructivist models of learning.
