research overview

  • My program of research consists of two broad aims, involving genetically-informed and longitudinal models to: 1) disentangle confounds from the causes and consequences of substance use disorder; and 2) understand the role of cognitive/effortful control in co-occurring substance use and internalizing disorders. For the first aim, I am particularly interested in the effects of cannabis use and cannabinoids on adolescent cognitive functioning and mood. For the second aim, I am working on the Alcohol, Inflammation, and Mindfulness (AIM) Study to examine shared treatment mechanisms of substance use and internalizing problems.
