research overview

  • My overarching research aim isto understand and predict the behavior of multi-scale complex systems in engineering, science, and biology with focus on mesco-scale systems. Modeling such systems poses many fundamental challenges in computational mathematics, requiring scalable methods capable of handling nonlinear, evolving systems with complex dynamic geometry. A major part of my research is devoted to the design of scalable numerical and computational frameworks for these systems.

    Primary Instructor - Spring 2018
    Introduces the fundamentals of linear algebra in the context of computer science applications. Includes vector spaces, matrices, linear systems, and eigenvalues. Includes the basics of floating point computation and numerical linear algebra.
  • CSCI 4576 - High-Performance Scientific Computing
    Primary Instructor - Fall 2018
    Introduces computing systems, software and methods used to solve large-scale problems in science and engineering. Students use high-performance workstations and a supercomputer. Recommended prerequisite: CSCI 3656. Same as CSCI 5576.
  • CSCI 5576 - High-Performance Scientific Computing
    Primary Instructor - Fall 2018
    Introduces computing systems, software and methods used to solve large-scale problems in science and engineering. Students use high-performance workstations and a supercomputer. First course in a two-semester sequence. Same as CSCI 4576.
