  • Dr. Brown's research is primarily concerned with the impact politics has on economic development in developing countries. Previous work includes investigating democracy's impact on human capital formation, spending on social programs, and the impact NGOs have on politics. Current work includes studying regime characteristics and their impact on crime and the labor share of income. He is also working on a textbook with Sage on introductory statistics, data visualization, and R.

  • PSCI 2075 - Quantitative Research Methods
    Primary Instructor - Spring 2018
    Introduces quantitative research methods used in political science. Focuses on basic tools of analysis: data collection, processing, and evaluation, with special attention to survey techniques. Includes elite and case study analysis; aggregate, cluster, and content analysis; and the use of computers in political research.
