I continue to research the representation of semantic information. The meaning of a sentence is an essential yet challenging aspect of natural language understanding. I develop semantic annotation processes for word sense tagging, semantic role labeling and event representations that: 1) are portable across languages (English, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Hindi and Urdu), 2) enable training of machine learning algorithms on annotated data, 3) provide a level of shallow semantic analysis that facilitates information extraction, question answering, and machine translation.
