  • IPHY 1020 - Introduction to Integrative Physiology
    Primary Instructor - Fall 2021 / Fall 2022 / Fall 2023
    Introduces students to Integrative Physiology. Provides an overview of the major and how it differs from other biology programs; how to get involved in clubs, research, and/or internship opportunities; strategies for succeeding in IPHY courses; and career options. This is a first-year colloquium course specifically designed for freshman and other students exploring their educational and career opportunities.
  • IPHY 3020 - Next Steps: Preparing for Life After Graduation
    Primary Instructor - Fall 2023
    Helps students prepare for what comes after graduation. Topics include exploring careers; how to write a resume or CV; interviewing tips; how to build your portfolio; asking for letters of recommendations. This course is specifically designed for juniors starting to prepare for the next stage post-graduation. Same as EBIO 3020 and MCDB 3020.
  • IPHY 3410 - Introduction to Human Anatomy
    Primary Instructor - Fall 2018 / Fall 2019 / Spring 2020 / Fall 2020 / Spring 2021 / Fall 2021 / Spring 2022 / Summer 2022 / Fall 2022 / Spring 2023 / Summer 2023 / Fall 2023 / Spring 2024
    Explores the cells, tissues, and organs that compose the different anatomical systems including integumentary, skeletal, muscular, digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, lymphatic, nervous, urinary and reproductive. Recommended prerequisite: EBIO 1220.
  • IPHY 4010 - Seminar in Integrative Physiology
    Primary Instructor - Spring 2018 / Fall 2018 / Spring 2019
    Introduces a small group of students to current research topics in integrative physiology, evaluation of current research and discussion of critical issues. May be repeated up to 6 total credit hours when topics vary. Department enforced prerequisite: IPHY 2800 or equivalent.
  • IPHY 4040 - History of Medicine
    Primary Instructor - Summer 2023
    Explores the history of western European medicine from the Middle Ages to the 19th century with a focus on the influence of social events and how these shaped the process and evolution of medicine. Projects explore topics of student interest that might include pharmacology, pathology, mental illness, optometry, dentistry, women in medicine, and the influence of war on medical practices. This is a three-week (Maymester) Education Abroad Global Seminar.
  • IPHY 4930 - Internship
    Primary Instructor - Spring 2018 / Summer 2018 / Fall 2018 / Spring 2019 / Fall 2019 / Spring 2020 / Spring 2022 / Spring 2023 / Spring 2024
    Provides an opportunity for field/laboratory work in a variety of different settings. Consult with faculty for approval. May be repeated up to 6 total credit hours. Department enforced prerequisite: completion of at least two of the major core classes.
  • IPHY 4940 - Application for Clinical Internship
    Primary Instructor - Spring 2018 / Fall 2018 / Spring 2019
    Provides an opportunity for clinical experience in a clinic or hospital setting with which the University has an established Affiliation Agreement. Consult with faculty for approval. May be repeated up to a total of 6 credit hours. Department enforced prerequisite: completion of two 3000-level courses.
