The results have been remarkable: since Flores became chair, eight new endowments totaling $4.9 million have been established for economics. In service to the profession, Flores has been a member of the Science Advisory Board of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency since 2009, lending his expertise to the EPA on the value of water in the U.S. economy and on methodologies used in the economic analysis of environmental policies.
