Provides an analysis and synthesis of discrete-time systems. Studies sampling theorem and sampling process characterization, z-transform theory and z-transferfunction, and stability theory. Involves data converters (A/D and D/A), dead-beat design, and digital controller design. Recommended prerequisites: ECEN 3300 and ECEN 4138.
