  • This course provides students an opportunity for deep engagement with important topics and specialty areas in the field of literacy studies. Focused on topics of current interest in the field, the course supports students to examine issues of research and practice, which may include historical and current trajectories of an area of research, theories that animate an area of research and practice, and the methods through which researchers investigate questions related to the topic. In addition to readings and discussion, students complete writing and multimodal projects that allow students to engage with content and process related to the topic to demonstrate and share their learning. May be repeated up to 6 total credit hours.
