Examines the history of Korea from the archaeological period to the 21st century. Topics may include: the origin of the early states, Koryo dynasty and Mongol rule, Confucian influence on Choson society, Japanese colonial rule, WWII and the �Comfort Women,� the Korean War and the division, North Korea, rapid industrialization in South Korea under dictatorships, the democratization movement, evolving roles for women, and Korea as an emerging multi-ethnic society.� ���
