  • Examines the major historical, economic and social factors that have shaped the identity of modern Italy, from the enthusiasm of young patriots during Italy's unification in the 1860s to the discontent and domestic terrorism of the 1960s-1980s. Focuses on Mussolini, the Fascist movement and on World War II, as well as the changing role of women. Taught in English. Same as ITAL 4250.
