Explores the relationship between race, ethnicity, and language and how they are co-constructed. How do speakers of different racial and ethnic groups use language differently, and what are the social implications of these different language varieties? Discusses the implications of ethnolinguistic variation on racial stereotypes, education, and the law. Recommended prerequisite: LING 1000. Same as ETHN 2500.
