Aims to acquaint students with the fundamentals of quantitative analysis in linguistics and provide a practical introduction to the R statistical computing environment. Topics that will be covered include examining and manipulating data, tests for independence, regression modeling, mixed models, measures of association, and data visualization. It is suitable for students with no prior experience with statistics or statistical software packages. Same as LING 5622. Recommended restriction: recommended to students with 57-180 credits (Juniors or Seniors).
