  • Scott Adler is Professor of Political Science at the University of Colorado, Boulder. His areas of expertise are the US Congress, elections, political institutions, comparative legislatures, and public policy making. Among his publications are his books Why Congressional Reforms Fail: Reelection and the House Committee System (University of Chicago Press, 2002), The Macropolitics of Congress (Princeton University Press, 2006), Congress and the Politics of Problem Solving (Cambridge University Press, 2012), and The United States Congress (2019).

    Intensive examination of the structure and rules of different political institutions in the United States. Explores both the changing approaches to the study of American political institutions as well as many ofthe major research topics on the presidency, Congress, the judiciary, and the bureaucracy.
