I conduct research in areas at the intersection of advertising, communication, new media and technology, surveillance, and marginalized populations. In my previous research, I have explored themes of control and resistance. Currently, I am engaged in two areas of research: First, I'm interested in continuing to explore online behavioral advertising (OBA), surveillance, and it's connection to children’s privacy. Second, I'm exploring the recurrence of sexual assaults against women in India, which continue to stand out as excessively violent, and the role that non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and the media that work to prevent such violence, play in transforming people's thinking around the matter of gender-based violence.
