Tess Amram's research focuses on the way gender identity interacts with library work, specifically non-standard identities (trans identities, nonbinary identities, etc.). They are particularly interested in gender and name authority work, and in working out best practices for catalogers trained in library science, but not necessarily gender studies, who are creating name authority records for people with diverse gender identities and pronouns.
