    Primary Instructor - Spring 2025
    Explores Black political movements and behavior in the United States, focusing on the historical and contemporary struggles for racial justice. It examines how Black political identity has been shaped by systemic political oppression and the ways Black Americans have persisted. Recommended prerequisite: PSCI 1101.
  • PSCI 4131 - Latinos and the U.S. Political System
    Primary Instructor - Summer 2024 / Fall 2024 / Summer 2025 / Spring 2026
    Examines the political status and activities of Mexican Americans and other Latino groups (Cuban Americans and Puerto Ricans) in the U.S. Also covers Latino political attitudes and behaviors; Latino efforts to influence the major national, state, and local institutions of the American government; and public policy concerns of Latinos. Recommended prerequisite: PSCI 1101.
  • PSCI 7075 - Scope and Methods of Political Science
    Primary Instructor - Fall 2024
    Introduces students to research design, with a subsequent focus on professional development. Students learn about different styles of research, central methodological points surrounding (and differentiating) these styles, and standards for evaluating research, regardless of approach or content.
  • PSCI 7108 - Special Topics

    Various topics not normally offered in the curriculum. Topics vary each semester. May be repeated up to 12 total credit hours.
