  • Objective: To describe change in Texas resident abortions by age after Texas Senate Bill 8 prohibited nearly all abortions after 6 weeks of pregnancy.Study Design: Compare Texas resident abortions by age during the first six months of enforcement with baseline average 2017-2019.Results: Overall, abortions were 45% less than prior average, but abortions decreased by 100% at ages <=11, 68% at ages 12-13 and 14-15, and 66% at ages 16-17. Decreases were also higher than the overall average at ages 18-19 and 20-24.Conclusions: Younger people were prevented from accessing in-state abortion care to a greater degree than others.
