Bleustein–Gulyaev waves in gallium arsenide and other piezoelectric cubic crystals Journal Article uri icon

Overview

abstract

  • This paper presents an analytical solution to the boundary-value problem for the existence of a Bleustein–Gulyaev piezoelectric surface wave in cubic crystals. A general formulation of the boundary-value problem is first developed. The results are then used to demonstrate the existence of a Bleustein–Gulyaev wave in piezoelectric cubic crystals of 4̄3m and 23 symmetry classes. Numerical solutions are obtained for a number of commonly used materials such as GaAs, GaP, InSb, InAs, Bi12GeO20 and Bi4Ge3O12.
