  • Patrick Mason collaborates with American composers of classical music. His recent work with Pulitzer Prize winning composer, George Crumb, has resulted in three new works dedicated to him: Voices from the Heartland (American Songbook VII), American Songbook V (Songs of the Forgotten World) and Ghosts of Alhambra have been premiered and recorded by Bridge Records. He has also premiered and recorded operas by William Bolcom (Pulitzer), John Musto, Tod Machover, John Duffy, Randall Shinn. Mr Mason also has a strong record of performance in the area of Liturgical Chant from the tenth century, as well as broad performing experience in music before 1600. He is currently working with young composers to encourage effective and innovative work in the area of sung theater - opera, cabaret, hybrid forms.

    Primary Instructor - Spring 2018
    Provides an overview of vocal anatomy/function, care of the voice, vocal repertoire, teaching strategies,and other specialized topics related to singing instruction in both private studio and public school choral settings. Fall section for instrumentalists; spring section for vocalists.

    A thorough investigation of the challenges of studio voice pedagogy, including corrective techniques, psychological philosophies, and video analysis of student teaching. Examination and evaluation of comparative methodologies of vocal technique.
