  • Dr. Bhandari's on-going research aims to advance science of occupational health and safety. The interdisciplinary safety research performed by Dr. Bhandari leverages aspects of civil engineering, behavioral psychology, adult learning, emerging technologies, and human factors engineering to test fundamental scientific questions. Dr. Bhandari is overseeing both laboratory and field-based experiment to lend high internal and external validity respectively to the evidence produced. Additionally, he is also continually publishing foundational research that has sought to define key phenomenon that supports the maturation of the field of safety. He is currently also conducting empirical research to support the efforts to improve the mental well-being of employees in the construction industry.

    Integrated study of construction equipment, methods, and economics. Topics include equipment productivity, equipment selection, and construction engineering design within economic constraints. Examples include earthmoving, concrete formwork, and temporary construction.
