My research aims to build a 'technology bridge' that will make it possible to use a sophisticated bioanalytical technique (ESI-Orbitrap MS) to be used to apply powerful geochemical concepts (stable isotope fingerprints in molecules). The new analytic tools can allow insights into the processes and mechanisms by which compounds are produced in cells, organisms or ecosystems.
