Overview

abstract

  • Abstract; The conclusion confronts the scarcity logic that underwrites internal exclusion in political theory: the belief that there is room only for token “slots” allocated to marginalized scholarship while ample space is preserved for the white male canon. Taking inspiration from the activism of the Guerrilla Girls, whose campaigns exposed tokenism in art museums and galleries, the chapter argues that institutional inclusion is structured by an artificial sense of limited capacity. Against this logic, it advances a conception of abundance: inclusion is not a matter of quantitatively counting bodies or texts, but of qualitatively transforming how we read, write, and cite. Feminist political theory remains alive when scholars seriously engage and playfully improvise with one another’s work, rather than citing instrumentally or preserving texts as untouchable relics. Because this model emphasizes how we include rather than how much we include, it enables solidarity across marginalized traditions rather than competition for token inclusion. The book closes with a satirical manifesto, reworking the Guerrilla Girls’ poster “Advantages of Being a Woman Artist” to name the advantages of being a feminist political theorist, underscoring both structural constraints faced by feminist scholars and the imaginative possibilities of joyful, creative improvisation.
