- I am primarily a poet who is interested in the intersections between aural culture, performance, ecology, and literary history. The experiment in my writing can be seen through my manipulation of language, semantic shifts, multilingual engagement, and queerness. As a poet I also look closely at the cultural productions emerging from Indo-Caribbean communities (and global communities surviving racialized Indian indenture) and translate popular and folk music to expose the often ignored poetic practices. This translation is both academic and literary.
