  • Dr. Corradini's research focuses on power electronics, the discipline revolving around the analysis, design and practical development of electronic circuits for efficient processing of electrical energy. Ubiquitous in today's world, power electronics is the key enabling technology for operating consumer as well as industrial electronics, from battery-operated equipment to large ICT infrastructures and data centers, and for interfacing renewable energy sources - such as wind and photovoltaic - to the electrical grid. Dr. Corradini has been mostly active in the field of design and control of dc-dc converters, with emphasis on digital control techniques for low-power dc-dc converters and advanced modulation strategies for bi-directional dc-dc converters.

    Focuses on analysis, modeling, design and testing of electrical energy processing systems in a practical laboratory setting. Studies power electronics converters for efficient utilization of available energy sources, including solar panels and utility. Experimental projects involve design, fabrication and testing of a solar power system. Same as ECEN 5517.

Averaged switch modeling of converters, computer simulation, ac modeling of the discontinuous conduction mode, the current programmed mode, nulldouble injection techniques in linear circuits, input filter design, and low-harmonic rectifiers.
  • ECEN 5857 - Digital Control for Power Electronics
    Primary Instructor - Fall 2023 / Fall 2024
    Focuses on analysis, modeling and design of digitally controlled power converters. Covers the dynamical discrete-time analysis of power converters, digital compensator design and main nonlinear phenomena due to quantization effects. Addresses the basics of controller autotuning.
