Elizabeth Swanson is an active guest conductor, a presenter at national conferences hosted by American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and National Collegiate Choral Organization (NCCO), and has been published in the Choral Journal. Her dissertation was a qualitative analysis of 'August 4, 1964', an oratorio by the Pulitzer Prize-winning American composer Steven Stucky, with original libretto by Gene Scheer. Dr. Swanson serves as Vice President on the Executive Board of the National Collegiate Choral Organization (2020-present) and is Chair of Repertoire & Resources for Colleges & Universities for the Southwestern American Choral Directors Association (SWACDA) region as well as Colorado ACDA. She is committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, access, and belonging and is dedicated to culturally responsive teaching. Her research interests also include wellness and complementary medical practices that incorporate mindfulness and mediation for the musician.
