Dr. Cooperstock is a concert pianist and recording artist, who specializes in performing and teaching contemporary American solo and chamber music. His violin-piano duo, Opus Two, has recorded important works by George Gershwin, Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, Paul Schoenfield, Robert Starer, Lowell Liebermann, and John Fitz Rogers and performed them across the U.S. and worldwide, on six continents. Dr. Cooperstock's most recent recording project, Leonard Bernstein: Complete Solo Works for Piano, was released by Bridge Records in June 2017. In 2018, two works from the Bridge CD were borrowed by Deutsche Grammophon to complete their Bernstein complete works box set. In 2020, in honor of Beethoven's 250th birthday, Dr. Cooperstock lectured nationally on the composer's pedagogical legacy. In preparation for George Walker's centenary in 2022, Dr. Cooperstock is presenting performances this year of his work for Black History Month, etc.
