  • Dr. Barkin's research focuses on questions of history, memory, amnesia, and geography within the context of historical traumas. She is particularly interested in the ways that different cultures, communities, and individuals represent genocide and exile within visual mediums like documentary film, comics and graphic narratives, and transmedia projects.
