- Professor Lisbon's research largely focuses on library workflows and information literacy in the context of East Asian librarianship and scholarship. In regard to library workflows, research involves targeted automation in order to make the collection development and acquisitions process more efficient, especially in work environments where language expertise may not be readily available. Research in information literacy focuses representation of non-roman scripts in research technologies like reference management software. Special focus is given to user perceptions of the software and user experiences.
