My research is on International human rights and includes a focus on the rights of indigenous peoples. Included in my research is examination of the application of international human rights norms to companies conducting activities, especially mining and and other large scale development activities, on or near indigenous territories. I also examine how international human rights law can be applied to guide responses environmental problems including climate change.

Exposes students to a variety of human rights issues and the responses by international institutions. In the fall, the seminar will meet for several sessions in a colloquium format, featuring guest speakers from around the world. In the spring semester, students will complete a paper that satisfies the law school's seminar writing requirement.
