  • Dr. Pann travels extensively to perform and engage in guest music lectures and performances with other American Universities. Teaches the art of music composition at the CU College of Music to both undergraduate and graduate students, participating often in performances with both faculty and students. Maintains both a national and international profile by way of major original music publications and guest engagements throughout the calendar year.

  • MUSC 2071 - Instrumentation
    Primary Instructor - Spring 2019
    Introduces the instruments in the orchestra by studying their ranges, idioms, histories and performance practices. Assignments center around hands-on scoring for instruments. Student arrangements will be performed in class during the semester. Offered spring only.

  • MUSC 3041 - Instrumentation and Arranging
    Primary Instructor - Spring 2021 / Spring 2023
    Learn to create professional arrangements for a diverse combination of instruments and/or voices. The course will work through instrumentation, score and part preparation, and issues of orchestration to prepare music student to create successful arrangements for a wide range of concert music settings. Final arranging projects will be geared towards individual interests.

    Provides a stylistic study of main contrapuntal genres of the period including inventions, suite movements and fugues. Provides a foundation in species counterpoint; stresses analysis and composing in the style. Offered fall only.
