Dr. Menken's research is primarily carried out as collaborative efforts with colleagues in the U.S. and in developing countries. It focuses on health in the developing world and on the impact of health and socioeconomic interventions, particularly on women and families. Her current research is on HIV/AIDS in Africa, long-term impacts of three major health and economic interventions in Bangladesh, effect of decentralization of health services in Honduras, and effect of increased access to family planning in Colorado..
