research overview

  • Dr. Ferrer has more than 23 years of experience developing analytical methods for the identification of small organic contaminants, such as pesticides and pharmaceuticals in the environment, using LC-MS techniques (LC-QTOF-MS, LC-MS-MS and ion trap MS-MS). She have published: - More than 110 peer review papers on environmental chemistry. Hirsch Factor: 49. - Two books on the application of advanced LC-MS methodologies for the analysis of emerging contaminants with focus on time-of-flight (TOF) techniques for the identification of unknown compounds. - One book on advanced techniques in Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS-MS and GC-TOF-MS) for Environmental Chemistry. Specialties include: LC/TOF-MS and LC/MS-MS Method Development Advanced Interpretation of Mass Spectra Analysis of emerging contaminants in the environment (pesticides and pharmaceuticals) Identification of degradation products. Fracking Analysis of fracking fluids, flowback and produced waters.
