Dr. Kaiser is a clinical psychologist who uses a combination of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS), physiological measurement, behavioral testing, digital ambulatory assessment (e.g., with mobile applications), and clinical methods to understand neurocognitive dysfunction in mood and related disorders, including abnormalities in the structure, molecular signaling, and coordinated activity of brain networks involved in cognitive regulation and motivated behavior. Dr. Kaiser’s research group explores these topics from developmental and translational perspectives, with special interest in using brain-based markers to predict the onset and course of psychiatric illnesses and recovery over time and in the real world. Clinically, Dr. Kaiser and her team are exploring novel (pharmacological, psychosocial, or digital) scalable interventions that foster health, or that support delivery of evidence-based interventions, with the goal of translating basic science into more effective treatment and improved emotional wellness.
