Dr. Elmendorf uses long-term and multi-site data to understand ecological impacts of climate change, with a particular focus on phenology & tundra plant community ecology. She works as both a producer and consumer of long-term data, with primary responsibility for archiving data collected by the Niwot Ridge Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) site. As a member of the ITEX (international tundra experiment) network, she works to synthesize the impacts of experimental climate warming on tundra ecosystems worldwide.
