  • As an Epidemiologist and Applied Biostatistician, Dr. McQueen's research objectives are focused on the development and application of advanced biostatistical and epidemiological methods to advance our understanding of human disease in a translational manner spanning from genes to populations. To this end, Dr. McQueen has embraced highly integrative and collaborative research that approaches the phases of translational research in a comprehensive manner.

    Examines the history and uses of epidemiology, measures of disease frequency and occurrence, association and causality, analytic epidemiology, evidence-based screening and outbreak investigations. Recommended prerequisites: IPHY 2800 and SOCY 2061 and PSYC 3101.

  • IPHY 5800 - Advanced Statistics and Research Methods in Integrative Physiology
    Primary Instructor - Fall 2018 / Spring 2020
    Introduces advanced statistical techniques important for analyzing data rising in biomedical research, including physiology. StatistIcal reasoning will be emphasized through problem solving and applications using statistical software packages. Recommended prerequisite: IPHY 2800.
  • IPHY 6840 - Research Project
    Primary Instructor - Spring 2018 / Summer 2018 / Fall 2018 / Spring 2019 / Summer 2019 / Fall 2019 / Spring 2020
    Involves a scholarly investigation of a selected topic using literature and/or experimental techniques. Advisor required. May be repeated up to 3 total credit hours.
