Dr. Songyou Hong received the Ph. D at Seoul National University in 1992 summer. He then continued modeling research in areas of physical parameterizations of the NCEP GFS and RSM since 1993 summer, and lead the development of MRF PBL and several physics algorithms. After moving to Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea, in 2000 summer, Dr. Hong has lead the development of the YSU PBL and WSM and WDM/WDM microphysics schemes. Also, he has led the major role in developing the Global/Regional Integrated Modeling system (GRIMs). Dr. Hong served the director of KIAPS from 2014-2019 and played a key role in developing the Korean Integrated Model (KIM) that became operational at the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) in April 2020. He published about 150 peer-reviewed papers and the number of citations exceeds 20,000
